BIO

Alessandro Brotto is a designer and photographer, founder and director of ailleurs.studio in Paris since 2019.
With over fifteen years of experience, he leads architectural visualization projects ranging from conceptual imagery and competition storytelling to editorial photography for architects, designers, and cultural institutions.
His career began with Patricia Urquiola in Milan (2008–2011) and RSI‑Studio in Paris (2011–2014), where he developed a method that merges artisanal sensitivity and advanced digital tools into a personal visual language.
Photography is the guiding thread of his work: he documents materials, atmospheres, places, and selected architectural works from architectural landmarks to curated contemporary projects to create proprietary datasets used to generate custom AI models. The result is digital environments that explore and sublimate matter, light, and scenarios, while always preserving local identity and architectural language.
Since 2014, he has collaborated with the Master MADI in Venice, initially as a teaching assistant, and more recently by leading workshops on AI and visualization, such as the “AI × Architecture Workshop” (May 2025).
His article “A Collaboration Forged in Code and Canvas” (AI Art Magazine n. 2, 2025) explores how site‑specific photography can guide design intelligence.
Through ailleurs.studio and the ailleurs.homework project, he continues to investigate how visualization, photography, and AI can expand the architectural brief, translating real atmospheres into digital scenarios with a balance of technical rigor and poetic sensitivity.
