Syllabus
Within this course will be used the V-Ray engine for the realization of photorealistic renderings of different environments, both internal and external, based on 3D Studio Max.
Week1
introduction
Study of the Vray interface, the command paddle and the positioning of the various assets within 3ds Max. Study and explanation of the lights present in an interior scene and consequent setup of a virtual camera. Approach and balance of the lights in the scene starting from the normal plane light up to the dome light and introduce the hdri. Introduction to materials and their main components. Differentiation between electrical and dielectric materials and creation starting from a VrayMlt. Introduction to the scientifically correct use of falloff curves. Development of complex materials such as Blend materials through the use of textures studied in Photoshop. Study of the various fusion techniques present in the program.
Week2
Materlias
Reflective materials and their different applications through the study of models. Knowledge and analysis of a VralightMlt and its use to create realistic light sources. Understanding the importance of Vary's Element renderings and their main use in photoshop. Understand when and how to use and intervene on Element renders to save time when calculating.
Week3
Exterior Scenes
Study of an architectural exterior and consequent approach to the technical lighting specifications present. Analysis of a Vray Dome light and its use with hdri maps. Management of environemt light and volumetric lights. Photographic and compositional approach to the creation of depth of field. Use of Scatter programs as forest pack for the creation of Environment and for the random distribution of simple and complex objects in the scene. Use and management of displacement maps in scene.
