Launch: February 6, 2021

Deadline: February 18, 2021 – 11:59 CET

MISSION

Imagine the interior space behind the text and create a CG image that represents it.

The door has just been closed: it was a long walk, one of those that clear up your mind and allow you to rid yourself of all those lingering oppressive thoughts, while trying to find familiarity in the  relatively new place, so different from before. A lot of things happened in the recent past, both expected and unexpected and this deeply influenced the lonely soul, giving us a prewarning and time for some important questions that each of us at some point needs to deal with.
The apartment that not so long ago was chosen due to it’s unique character and it’s peculiar space and location, now on the contrary suddendly looking so different. It is easy to see how a strong personality can have such a big impact even in such a limited space. Everything has been encapsulated whilst absorbing the energy and the vibes of the inhabitant.

In every single piece of furniture and every single possession could potentially tell us so much, not only about the recent past but also the future. The light, the mood, the scent..everything reminds us of a movie scene, a movie set: the traces of yesterday but also hints of the upcoming times, the impending utopian future?

Award

Become a member of our team of 50 artists from all over Europe with the following conditions:

  • A 3 month paid internship in the interior department in Budapest, starting approximately in September
  • Monthly pass for public transport for the entire duration of the internship
  • A voucher for leisure or cultural activities in Budapest (depending on the available services) during the internship
  • A welcome box with local products and snacks
  • EVE reserves the right to add an additional internship, with all the mentioned benefits, in case of multiple outstanding results.

Regulation

The final result should be achieved mainly in 3d, as you would do in your daily work at EVE. A light post-production is also welcome,
but the final image should not be the result of heavy matte-painting:

  • The main work has to be done in 3dsMax and Corona renderer
  • Post-production can be done in Photoshop or similar software
  • Any supporting software (Marvelous designer, Zbrush) or special asset (hand-modeled or photo-scanned) can also be used in the
competition, but they will not be considered as a plus for the final evaluation
  • There is no limitation in terms of time, location, perspective and architectural style but you should pursue the photorealism
  • Minimum resolution 2000px on the longest side (landscape or portrait)
  • Scene assets can be downloaded, hand-modeled or photo-scanned. Specify and credit downloaded assets (photos, 3d models)
  • The human presence has to be perceivable. It is up to the candidate to decide how to introduce it in the scene (for instance as an
integrated cut-out in post-production, or as a shadow/reflection in the scene)
  • Please only submit original work
  • Work should be strictly individual

Submission Format

Please submit the following package:
1. 150-word description of the image concept
