BIO
Cristina Barbiani is an architect with a PhD in History of Architecture and the City, Science of the Arts and Restoration at the School of Advanced Studies in Venice. She holds a degree in Design and Production of Visual Arts from the IUAV University of Venice. She is the scientific head of the Master Digital Exhibit at the IUAV University of Venice. She has a transversal education between architecture and multimedia and performing arts completed by study periods at New York University and MIT in Boston. She obtained a PhD, with a thesis on notation for dance and landscape architecture, in the experience of Anna and Lawrence Halprin. She works on digital stagings and has collaborated with choreographers and artists including Frédéric Flamand, Ismael Ivo and Klaus Obermaier. She has worked for important institutions such as La Triennale di Milano, the Musei Civici di Venezia, the Swiss pavilion at the 2014 Architecture Biennale, the Russian pavilion at the 2015 Art Biennale and the Polo Museale Veneziano. She lives and works in Venice.
