TEACHER MASTER MADI

Valentina Camillo

among the many applications for the IUAV Digital Architecture Master, in 2011 the commission found itself faced with a decidedly atypical candidacy: forest agronomist.
Valentina Camillo flew to England at the RHS – Royal Horticultural Society and then to Copenhagen to follow the last year of Landscape Architecture, and finally arrived at Madi with a fixed idea: 3D to represent the landscape.

What are the parameters that make a beech different from a chestnut tree? Can I write a parametric algorithm that makes me model trees by moving sliders? For her thesis, Valentina applied Grasshopper3d to the world of agronomy.

Since then, several years have passed and Valentina always follows her passion and continues to do what she likes:

I always work as a freelancer and collaborate with engineers, architects and companies for the design of outdoor areas, from the garden to the square, to urban redevelopment. I founded the Green2me Landscape Architecture Studio in San Donà a few years ago and I’ve been working with coastal campsites and private individuals who want to invest in exteriors.
I use modelling and rendering in the presentation of my projects…. I couldn’t do without!

Valentina is a Veneto Region Environmental Guide, vice-president of AFP – Associazione Forestale di Pianura and also beekeeper since 2013.

The candidacy was decidedly atypical but the passion and perseverance of Valentina highlight her ability to establish a strong connection between man and environment, creating a symbiosis between architecture and nature, even with the help of digital.
